Let's Fall In Love

Naina met Deepak for the 1st time in the Kindergarten School. Deepak was this shy, quiet, reserved boy who used to sit on the 1st bench.
Just then a girl entered the class and everybody’s attention turned towards her. She was singing Lakdi Ki Kathi.
“You’ve a very nice voice,” the teacher said smilingly.
“Thank you, Miss.”
“What’s your Name?”
“Naina,” she said with wide eyes.
“Very beautiful name dear. Naina go and sit with Deepak.”
“Hi,” Naina chirped happily.
“Hi,” Deepak was a little uncomfortable.
Both of them were quiet for some time when Naina continued again, “from now on we’re best friends.”
“Why?” Deepak sounded surprised.
“See, you don’t talk much and I love to talk. So, that makes us best friends.”
From that day onwards there was no looking back. Naina and Deepak became best friends. Both went to same school and college. Whatever they did: from seeing movies, going to parties, studying, everything was done together. Their friends teased them many a times that they were couple but every time Naina picked a fight with them.
Though Deepak also didn’t it at 1st of them being called as Couple. He loved Naina but, as a friend. But then one day everything changed, when Naina broke the news that a guy was coming to see her and she was really excited about the whole prospect.
“Deepak, day after tomorrow a guy is coming to see me. You know he’s from L.A. Oh! I’m so damn excited.”
“But, why do you want to get married so early?”
“What’s early? I’ve to get married sooner or later. And who knows whether again I’ll get this sort of proposal or not and that also from a handsome guy?”
Deepak felt unsettled. He knew Naina was mad, but so mad.... he had no idea. He met Vrinda their common friend.
“So Deep, wassup?”
“Nothing yaar. A guy from L.A is coming to see Naina,” Deepak said while sipping his Iced Tea.
“You know, I’m proud of you.”
“Why?” Deepak sounded surprised.
“You nurtured Naina with your friendship from a girl to woman and now you would give her away to someone else. You’re a perfect example of a Giving Mom.”
“Shut up Vrinda, I’m not her Mom. I’m.......”
“What?” she looked at Deepak’s confused face and continued again, “Find it before its too late.”
Deepak went home and went through the memory lane. Many memories brought smile on his face. He had no idea when sun rose. By this time he realised one thing: he couldn’t let Naina go. Hell! He won’t play the role of Naina’s mother. He wants to be Naina’s boyfriend, husband and someone special.
“Naina, I want to meet you.”
“Deepak, what is it? It’s 6am damn! I’ll meet you after 10.”
“No, you’re going to meet me right now. I’m coming to pick you up. You’ve exactly 10 min to brush your teetj and wash your face.”
Deepak picked up Naina and went to Marine Drive. “Yes Deepak, what you’ve to say?”
“Don’t marry that L.A guy.”
“Why?” Naina looked shocked.
“Damn! How could you marry someone whom you don’t even know and What about Me?”
“What about you?” Naina looked puzzled.
“Hell yaar. We’ve been together for 22yrs. And now you’re going to marry someone else.”
“Deepak.....”
“We did everything together. So let’s.............”
“Let’s what?” Naina prompted.
“Let’s fall in love.”
Naina looked at Deepak for some time and then started moving.
“Where are you going?” Deepak asked in a surprised tone and he was here waiting for an answer.
“Let’s have a cup of tea and after all we’ve to make a plan against L.A guy so that he can go back without me.”
“That means?” Deepak smiled.
“It means we’ve been in love since the 1st day of Kindergarten. We’ve just accepted it now.”
Both of them reached the tea stall and Naina ordered 2 cups of tea. “So, see here’s the plan...........”
“I love you,” Deepak said.
“I love you too,” she smiled. “But let’s concentrate on the plan.”
