The Never Ending Wait

There was something about the sea that roused weird emotions in Kaya. The stillness at times reminded her how her life has been, but the very next minute a torrid wave challenged her that she was she was cursed! Cursed to never know what contentment was, cursed to never feel what stillness was. She kept on walking. Away from people. Weird it was! People come to Goa to relax, to unwind themselves and most important of all to party hard and here was Kaya, an attractive woman of 35; she was walking away from all this. Where? Well Kaya thought herself to be cursed by Satan himself. Her life was a long journey with no destination.             After walking for an age, she found a secluded corner. How apt that sounded. Secluded. Just like her life. If you think she was going to lament over what she had lost or what she was in the process of losing, then you’re wrong. Eve...

Naked

He moved his fingers in my hair, and I closed my eyes. He kept playing with the ends of my hair and I bit my lip so that I could stifle my moan. Slowly and steadily his hand caressed my neck and involuntarily I arched backwards. His lips were mere inch apart from me… “And cut! Fabulous shot Sanaya. Let’s wrap up guys; we’re done for the day.” Some random girl handed me my robe and without making an eye contact, I moved towards my green room. I locked myself and stared at the looking glass. Heavily kohl eyes, cheeks flustered with top brand blush, lips made seductive with amazing plum colour lipshade and body draped in an exquisite gown… This was me. Shanaya Seth. A Model. Honestly, a model who was mostly called for lingerie/nude shots. But I am still a model. Why did I become one? I even have forgotten the reason now. I came to this country hoping to make a life for myself. From doing odd jobs, I ended up here. When I was first ca...

The Stranger

He stood there for a long time. Tired, worn out. Even though he was dressed in a designer suit, the look in his eyes mirrored as if the whole day he had worked out in the Sun doing some kind of laborious task. With slouched shoulders he remained standing at the threshold of the house for an eon. Then without saying a word, he turned around and got lost into the darkness.             He came there every day at the same time. Who was he? I didn’t know. He sounds.... a bit strange. I’ve been watching him for months now. In my mind, I’ve even named him ‘Aayan’. Why Aayan? I don’t know. The day I saw him few months ago, I wondered about his name; and it was this word that rang the bell. It was a balmy summer night. Even though MET Dept. was assuring everyone that it would rain, but it never did. That night everyone was out for a stroll so that they could joi...

The Other Side of the Story Part-2

As usual Vansh was surrounded by models. He chuckled to himself. There was one time when these models didn’t even spare him a second glance, but now just because he was a successful photographer they never left a chance to surround him, laugh at his lame jokes so that they could bag a shoot from him. Vansh looked around and saw Meera talking to an investor. His smile turned into a frown as he could make out that Meera wasn’t interested in talking to him. She was actually just waiting to excuse herself. He sighed. He wished Meera would start paying more attention to the business. They needed funding and projects and Meera’s non committal attitude wasn’t going to help. Vansh turned his attention back to the model who was talking gibberish but he did realize that Meera left the venue. ‘Cigarette’, he whispered to himself. She had promised him that she wouldn’t smoke but he knew that Meera wasn’t keeping her promise. Every bag/clutch of hers had a cigarette tucked in it. “I’ll ju...
